Ok so today I was thinking about the people that I have been hearing lately that are lds. I was thinking about derek and julianne hough from dancing with the starts and so I decided to do a little investigating on the subject. I found some pretty interesting names. Gary Allan was born Dec. 5, 1967, in Montebello, Calif., with the name Gary Herzberg. He was raised in La Mirada, Calif., and in his teens, he began to play the honky-tonk circuit.

He was nicknamed “Bird” because his playing weight was a slight 160 pounds. He was named specialty team captain in the mid 1980’s He played for the Los Angeles Raiders as Number 21 from 1987 to 1989. He joined the Church in 2002.

He served a full-time mission in Culiacan, Mexico from 1997-1999. He is 25 years old, and undefeated as a heavyweight in the professional ranks with a record of 10-0-1 (7 knock outs). He was the 2001 & 2002 U.S. National Heavyweight Champion. He competed internationally and had victories over Korea, China, France, Australia, and Germany. He was the only American to win gold at the France Four Nationals Tournament in Laval, France. He defeated the 2004 US Olympian, Devin Vargas, three different times in national tournaments. He is promoted as a professional by Main Events, Inc. and managed by Lou Mesorana.

Jeremy Served a mission in Spain.

Kelly Chemane Packard was born in Glendale, California, and grew up in Arizona. She later moved to Canyon Country, California. Packard began her career in television commercials at the age of 8 before going on to win the title of Miss California Pre-Teen in 1988. Katherine Heigl was born to a Mormon family in Washington, D.C. November 24, 1978. Katherine is the youngest of five children. Growing up, her life was much like many American families. Her parents moved the family several times before settling in New Canaan, Connecticut. Katherine's life was not free from the agony of tragedy. She lost her brother, Jason, in 1986, when he suffered a car accident. Following, the accident, Katherine's family donated her brother's organs and she has remained an advocate for organ donors to this day.
